The Alberni Valley Tyees Lacrosse program is holding its third annual novice and peewee tournament from May 6–8 at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.
The Ice Breaker Lacrosse Tournament will consist of boys and girls between the ages of nine and 12 from 14 to 16 different teams coming to the Alberni Valley from city’s around the Island and B.C.
The tournament is known to bring hundreds of families to the community, said Sophia Torfs, tournament volunteer.
Raffle tables and a silent auction will be available at the tournament for those interested.
The Valley’s peewee and novice teams both kick off the tournament with games beginning on Friday, May 7.
The novice division will be playing their first game in the Weyerhaeuser arena at 12 p.m. The peewees begin at 12:15 p.m. in the Coulson Arena with more games to follow for both teams throughout the tournament weekend.
