UBC trio earn silver medals at NAIA championships

Kwantlen Park Secondary graduate Justin Kent won two medals at the recent NAIA championships, including a silver medal with UBC's 4x800m relay team.

Three long distance runners from Surrey were part of University of British Columbia (UBC) relay teams which won silver medals at the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) track and field championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary graduate Stephanie Dacre was part of the runner-up UBC Thunderbirds 4×800 team. Kwantlen Park Secondary graduate Justin Kent and White Rock’s Jack Williams (Semiahmoo Secondary) made up half the Thunderbirds 4x800m men’s team which placed second.

Kent also won a bronze medal in the 3,000m steeplechase, with Williams adding a bronze in the 1,500m.
