Undefeated start to 2017 by Vanderhoof’s Viqueens

Excellent teamwork and fierce defensive play ensured that the Viqueens were a force to be reckoned with.

The Nechako Valley Secondary Viqueens Sr. Girls Basketball team started the new year with a bang as they went undefeated at the 2017 OKM Huskies and Immaculata Mustangs New Years round robin tournament in Kelowna on Jan. 6 and 7.

The Nechako Valley Secondary Viqueens Sr. Girls Basketball team started the new year with a bang as they went undefeated at the 2017 OKM Huskies and Immaculata Mustangs New Years round robin tournament in Kelowna on Jan. 6 and 7.

Excellent teamwork and fierce defensive play ensured that the Viqueens were a force to be reckoned with.

The Viqueens opened the tournament on Thursday afternoon against Fulton of Vernon and came away victorious defeating the Okanagan team 54-43.

On Friday morning, the girls then defeated  Nor-Kam of Kamloops  50-28 and then went on to defeated Kelowna Secondary on Friday evening 53-21.

The final game of the tournament saw the Viqueens come out strong against Summerland with a 73-23 victory.
