The Vernon boys, coached by Mike Melbourne, opened with a 2-1 win over the Wild Torrent with Kronbauer, Kody Glinsbockel, Ryan Killingsworth, Dyck and keeper Cole Shoemaker enjoying strong games.
In the Saturday afternoon match, United brushed back the Wesburn Storm of Burnaby 3-2. They easily outplayed the Storm but had difficulty finishing. Cole Woodliffe and Brandon Melbourne had strong games in the midfield.
