There’s a first time for everything, and two of those “things” happened Sunday at Valley View – much to the chagrin of Comox Valley United.
The local Vancouver Island Soccer League Div. 2 team was hosting first-place Saanich Fusion. The visitors became the first team to score on United this season (snapping Mack Zirkl’s remarkable 380-minute shutout streak), then they handed United their first loss of the season to the tune of 2-1.
Darren Bergh netted the lone United goal. Comox Valley hosts Nanaimo United this Sunday, with kickoff 2 p.m. at Valley View.
