The Vancouver Island Mountain Sports Society is holding its biggest fundraiser of the year June 6 at the Alpine Lodge at Mount Washington.
“In the spirit of the winter weather we had, the theme is Hawaii,” said VIMSS vice-chair Don Sharpe, adding there will be prizes for best dressed.
There will be silent auction items, live auction items and plenty of games. A free scenic chair ride scavenger hunt from 3-5 p.m. is also part of the fun.

The VIMSS supports emerging Island athletes in a variety of mountain sports. They have assisted the Mount Washington Alpine Ski Club, Strathcona Nordic Ski Club, VI Riders Snowboard Club, Mount Washington Freestyle Club, First Nations Snowboard Team and the Vancouver Island Society for Adaptive Snowsports.
