The V.I. Raiders have some facets of their game working well as they return to their home field for the first time in a month.
V.I. hosts the Valley Huskers on Saturday (Sept. 23).
The Raiders are coming off a 22-17 road loss to the Westshore Rebels on Saturday, but Nanaimo had some strong individual efforts in that game including Player of the Week nods to running back Rhett Williams and kick returner Brycen Mayoh. Williams was chosen B.C. Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week after compiling 150 rush yards, while Mayoh was selected BCFC Special Teams Player of the Week after totalling 188 return yards and 103 receiving yards.
The Raiders haven’t played at Caledonia Park since Aug. 26, due to a bye week and two straight road games.
GAME ON … V.I. management asked fans to take note that kickoff time for this Saturday’s home game has been changed to 1 p.m. at Caledonia Park.
