Nanaimo's football team defeats Kamloops Broncos on the road, 39-7

The Vancouver Island Raiders are back to .500 after winning their second game of the B.C. Football Conference season in convincing fashion.

The Raiders defeated the Kamloops Broncos 39-7 in a neutral-site game in Chilliwack on Saturday.

Raiders quarterback Jake LaBerge was 20-for-27 passing for 348 yards and three touchdowns, with all three TDs to receiver Alex Bonnetplume. Jason Henderson rushed for 136 yards.

Defensively, Sean Murray had six tackles, Sean Adams had an interception, McKenzie Nofield and Doyle Westlund forced fumbles and Tyler Ruck had a fumble recovery.

GAME ON … The Raiders (1-1) will have a home game against the Okanagan Sun (2-1) this Saturday at NDSS Community Field. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
