The Valley Huskers announced a handful of new players Monday on signing day in the Canadian Junior Football League.
In the first day where junior football teams were allowed to confirm commitments, the Chilliwack-based team landed the services of four locals.
Included in that mix, three graduates from the powerhouse GW Graham Grizzlies program.
Hard charging running back/defensive end Jaiden Claassen, linebacker Jackson Saunders and slotback Liam Dallas are on board after leading their Grizzlies to a provincial semi-final berth last season.

They’re joined by Zach Wilson, a receiver/tight end out of Sardis secondary and the Chilliwack Giants program who played in the All-Canada showcase game last summer in Chilliwack.
On the minus side of the ledger, the Huskers lost a local to a BC Football Conference rival. Kai Sommerville signed a letter of intent with the Kamloops Broncos.
Out-of-town talent signed by the Huskers includes Tevonne Albert (defensive line – Maples Collegiate in Winnipeg, Manitoba), Reece Wyke (running back/slotback – River East Collegiate in Winnipeg, Manitoba), Adamo Urciuoli (Maples Collegiate in Winnipeg, Manitoba), Carson Moniz (offensive line – North Langley Kodiaks), Connor Enns (linebacker – Drumheller Titans, Alberta), Brody Wenzel (centre/defensive line – Westgate High in Thunder Bay, Ontario), Juan Labrador (offensive line – Salisbury Composite High in Sherwood Park, Alberta), Josh Yee (defensive end – Lawn High in Calgary, Alberta), Dylan Lepka (offensive line – Chestermere High in Chestermere, Alberta) and Matt Brown (offensive line – Salisbury Composite High in Sherwood Park, Alberta).
