Ike Olson supplied the lone touchdown as the Fulton Maroons fell 16-7 to the host Valleyview Vikings of Kamloops in Okanagan Junior Varsity Football Conference play Wednesday.
“We played well and stuck with Valleyview most of the game,” said Fulton head coach Mike Scheller.
“In the end, Valleyview did a better job of controlling the ball and the pace of the game. Offensively, their defence blitzed us continually, and we could not compete.”
Caden Doyle led Fulton’s ground game with 73 yards on four carries, and delivered a team-high seven tackles. Cole Hunter added 50 yards rushing and Olson had 42, along with 42 aerial yards and two interceptions.
Nate Banga booted the extra point.
Andrew Goldentahl and Koalden Gudeit-Oakden were defensive standouts with six tackles apiece, and Hunter Krieger had four. Anthony Prince recorded a sack.
