At the moment, the Vancouver Island Seals AAA Girls Midget hockey team are second in the league with 13 wins, nine losses and one tie.
They are second only to the Greater Vancouver Comets (24-2-1).
The Vancouver Island team – now based in Victoria but was previously based in Campbell River – has two players from Campbell River, Kiera Arsenault and affiliate Addison Battie. Paige Beauregard of Campbell River is playing for the Thompson-Okanagan Lakers this year.
So far, the top scorer for the team this year is Brooklyn Paisley with 21 goals and seven assists. She is third in the league after Naomi Choony and Jenn Gardiner of the Greater Vancouver Comets.
Megan Dyck is leading the team assists with 10. Jenna Buglioni of the Comets leads the league with 28.
Seals’ goalie Olivia Davis has allowed an average of 2.28 goals per game, and Amy Hassel sits at 1.58. The two come in behind both Comets goaltenders, Kaitliyn Daly (1.15) and Bella Heng (1.5).
Quinn Atchison has the most penalty minutes this season for the Seals at 34, but is still 20 minutes less than the player who has spent the most time in the box, Wynona Creyke of the Northern Capitals with 54 minutes.
