Vees add strength and conditioning coach to staff

Brent Mosses joins the Penticton Vees as their new strength and conditioning coach

The Penticton Vees have made an addition to their training staff.

The Vees announced Tuesday the hiring of Brent Mosses as the new strength and conditioning coach. Vees president and general manager Fred Harbinson said in a team release that the Vees focus on their off-ice needs just as much attention as they do with their on ice product.

“Teams are constantly trying to upgrade their programs,” said Harbinson. “The addition of Brent Mosses as our full-time strength and conditioning coach definitely enhances ours.

“We have always placed a high value on player development; having someone specialized in the development of our players in the weight room will pay off on the ice,” continued Harbinson.

Mosses is the owner-operator of Accelerate Personal Fitness Training in Penticton (www.acceleratefitness.ca). Mosses has a diploma in personal fitness training from the Northern Alberta Technical Institute and is a certified personal trainer under the governing body of the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. Mosses is a former Penticton Minor Hockey Association product who played junior hockey in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League with Nelson and Columbia Valley.

Mosses will be responsible for developing, initiating, and monitoring the in-season training programs for the players. He will also be responsible, along with the Vees training staff, for player nutrition and rehabilitation of injuries.
