Easton Brodzinski pocketed a pair of goals, while Tyson Jost collected three assists as the Penticton Vees dumped the Surrey Eagles 6-2 on the road.
The Vees earned their second straight win of the season and travel to West Kelowna today to take on the Warriors.
The Vees struck early at the South Surrey Arena as Chris Gerrie opened the scoring in the first four minutes when he tapped in the rebound past Justin Laforest from his redirected shot. The Eagles tied the game at one late in the period on a goal by Matthew Hermary, who beat newly signed Vees goal Émilien Boily. The Vees goalie finished with 21 saves on 23 shots.
In the second period, the Vees struck three times in the opening seven minutes on goals by Burgart, who first BCHL tally, Brodzinski on the power-play and Owen Sillinger.
In the final frame, Scott Conway gave the Vees a 5-1 lead 27 seconds in and Brodzinski scored his second power-play marker at 3:56. Brodzinski was alone between the circles and spun to fire a shot over Laforest’s shoulder.
Eagle Darius Davidson scored their second goal at 17:18.
The Vees outshot the Eagles 38-21 and went two-for-10 on the man advantage, while the Eagles were shutout on four chances.
Jost, Brodzinski, Conway and Lavallee each had two or more points in the win, and 13 Vees hit the scoresheet. Dating back to last season, the Vees have won their last four games against Surrey, outscoring them 38-4 over that span.
