Veteran Cam Amantea led the 15-1 Vees with a Halloween hat trick, his first goals of the season. Jack Ramsey and Riley Alferd chipped in with deuces. Brendan Barry made 23 stops for his first BCHL shutout.
Penticton boasts a remarkable plus-47 goal differential through 16 games. Surrey (3-10-0-3) has lost five straight.
In other Interior Division action Friday, Jason Cotton netted the OT winner as the West Kelowna Warriors shaded the Salmon Arm Silverbacks 4-3 at the Shaw Centre.
The host Trail Smoke Eaters parlayed a 4-1 second-period lead into a 7-5 win over the Merritt Centennials at Cominco Arena.
Idle Friday, the Vernon Vipers (7-5-0-1) entertained Merritt (9-6) Saturday. Trail (8-5) visits Kal Tire Place Wednesday (7 p.m.).
