Any Christmas rust the Vernon Valley Wood Remanufacturing Junior Vipers may have had didn’t materialize in their Senior Atom Development C league games in Sicamous.
Tylen Lewis scored twice and Hudson Podollan had a goal and an assist to lead the Snakes to a 5-3 win Saturday over the hometown Eagles.
Cohen Hogberg and Max Power had the other goals for Vernon, who scored three times in the third period for the win.
Isaac Gossen scored all three goals for Sicamous.

Returning to the Houseboat Capital of B.C. Sunday, Vernon scored six times in the first period and coasted to a 14-1 victory over the Salmon Arm Silvertips.
Shanahan Gare matched the number on his jersey with an eight-point effort, four goals and four assists. Cameron Matile had 2+1 and Hogberg and Lewis each added two goals. Matthew Vranesic had a five-point game with a goal and four helpers. Single goals went to Podollan, Kalin Frick and Power.
SENIOR ATOM DEVELOPMENT A
Vernon H&L Glass Junior Vipers picked up a point in a pair of weekend games.
Vernon tied Kamloops 5-5 but dropped a 6-3 decision to Kelowna.
Ollie Reid led the Vernon offence with six points, four goals and two assists. Axel Houle had two goals and a helper, Jack Saxton had a goal and an assist and Colton Sitter added the game-tying powerplay goal against Kamloops.
PEE WEE TIER 3
Vernon Collard Financial Vipers scored on one-fifth of their shots Saturday in a huge 10-3 win over the host Merritt Centennials at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
The Snakes peppered the Merritt goalie with 50 shots in their first game of 2019.
Sam Levesque led Vernon with a hat trick and one assist. Mark Johnson and Logal Andrew each had 2+1, Dylan Salling chipped in four points with 1+3, Tage Nanji and 1+2 and Lyndon Carleton picked up one assist. Defenceman Cole Garter had three helpers while Kai Maleniza, Hudson Restiaux, Oliver Murray and Kohen Pounder also got on the scoresheet with assists to support Kohen Molde in the Vernon net.
Collard Financial could not sustain the momentum Sunday, as they fell 10-2 to the speedy Salmon Arm Silvertips at the Priest Valley Arena.
Travis Rypkema made 30 saves as Vernon was outshot 40-23 by the Silvertips. Maleniza and Sallings scored for Vernon, now 7-5 on the year, good for second place in Okanagan Tier 3 North Division. Pounder picked up an assist.
PEE WEE TIER 2
Vernon Watkin Motors Mustangs went to Oliver Saturday and dropped a 10-3 decision to the host South Okanagan Flames.
The Flames extended a 3-1 advantage after 20 minutes to 8-1 going into the final period, thanks to five unanswered goals in the middle frame.

Charlie Swartz had a goal and an assist for Vernon, while Maguire Nicholson and Morgan Hackman added the other markers.
At Kal Tire Place North Sunday, the Mustangs fell behind 3-0 in the opening period and dropped a 12-4 decision to the West Kelowna Warriors.
Hudson Kibblewhite had two goals and an assist for Vernon, Jeffrey Curtis added 1+1 and Ryan Cox rounded out the scoring. Devon John Sales-Parno had an assist.
