The top two seeds in the Okanagan Squash League battle tonight (6 p.m.) at Rosters Sports Club.
No. 1 Murray Bennetto of Vernon takes on second-seeded Andrew Braff of Kelowna in a Squash B.C.-ranked match.
Both players are ranked in the top-20 in the province. Bennetto is a well-known Vernon athlete who continues to play at a high level in both squash and tennis, where he was a pro player and coach for several years in Hong Kong.
“Having Murray inspires us all to a higher level – and watching him play Braff will be great,” said Team Vernon captain Richard Bruneau.
Said Rosters owner/manager Gus Morris: “Murray is a loyal local member of both our club and the Kalamalka tennis club, and he is a machine on the court. My money is on Bennetto. I have at $10 bet with another member who will remain nameless.”
