Shames Mountain was listed as one of the top 10 ski resorts by a UK magazine, Snow Magazine.
“There are powder filled pistes and tree runs for all, but what’s truly magical is the access to acres of steep and deep backcounty touring,” the article stated.
The Northern View decided to check out the backcountry touring with the right gear and an experienced skier to see what it was all about.
