In their game tonight against the Portland Winterhawks, the Langley-based Giants took a break from play to toss some stuffies.
Before a sold-out crowd Langley Events Centre tonight, the Vancouver Giants have collected a large quantity of different sized teddy bears.
The annual teddy bear toss was presented by Hyundai.
Bondra heads to Slovakia
The G-Men also changed in the roster, with player Radovan Bondra leaving the hockey club to join Slovakia’s World Junior selection camp ahead of the 2017 World Junior Hockey Championship later this month.
Bondra, who hails from Trebisov, Slovakia, leads the Giants in goal scoring with 18 markers in 29 games.
The 19-year-old winger has represented his country at the world juniors on two previous occasions, helping the Slovaks to a bronze medal in 2015.
Bondra was a fifth-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2015 NHL Draft and a first-round pick of the Giants in the 2015 CHL Import Draft.
He is one of 32 WHLers who were invited to world junior selection camps.
