Viking wrestlers bring home gold, bronze medals

Whether it be medals, zone milestone, or team learning, Vanderhoof’s representation at the BC Summer Games brought home notable achievements this summer.

Nearly 3,000 coaches and athletes across the province competed in 18 sports and trained in development clinics at the 30th BC Summer Games in Abbotsford from July 21 to 24

 

Vanderhoof’s Aiden Evenson won gold in the Boys 63-kg event, while Eran Bach and Jonathan Read won bronze in the Boys 74-kg and 84-kg respectively.

Grade 10 student Addison Miller-Gauthier also participated in the Games.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“The number of athletes was low but the quality was quite good,” said coach Travis Himmelright. “Many of the top ranked wrestlers in the province were in attendance. Athletes also had the opportunity to watch other sports in action; a unique opportunity that the games allows.”
