After leading Canada to the gold medal on home soil in November, Ryan Walter will get another crack.
This time, Walter will take the Canadian women’s national team into Switzerland in April.
On Friday, Hockey Canada announced Walter would coach the team at the 2011 IIHF world women’s hockey championships.
They are slated to run April 16-25 in Zurich and Winterthur.

“We have a lot of work ahead of us, but I know our players and staff are a strong teams capable of accomplishing our ultimate goal of winning gold,” he said.
He will joined by Dan Church and Lisa Jordan, the head coaches at York University and St. Mary’s University, respectively.
Canada is in search of its 10th world championship.

Following his retirement, he worked in the broadcast booth before becoming an assistant coach with the Canucks in 2008, spending two seasons with Vancouver.
