The West Kelowna Warriors will see their North Okanagan rivals for the first time this BCHL season as they hook up with the visiting Vernon Vipers on Tuesday night.
Face off at Royal LePage Place is 7 p.m.
Then on Friday, West Kelowna will host Salmon Arm.
The Warriors head into the game with a 2-2 record thanks to a weekend sweep of the Merritt Centennials.
On Friday at Royal LePage Place, rookie Liam Blackburn’s second goal of the season proved to be the winner as the Warriors triumphed 3-2.
Ambrose Firkus and David Pope also scored while Seb Lloyd added two assists in the club’s 2013-14 home opener.
On Saturday in Merritt, the Warriors squeezed out their second one-goal decision, 4-3.
After Carl Hesler scored his first BCHL goal in the opening period, Braxton Bilous, newcomer Tyson Dallman, and Matt Anholt scored third-period markers for West Kelowna.
Andy Desautels was in net for the second straight night to earn his second win of the season for the Warriors.
Chiefs get split…
The Kelowna Chiefs opened their fourth season in the KIJHL with a split of their first two games.
After coming up short Friday in a 4-3 loss to Princeton, the Chiefs bounced back Saturday at Rutland Arena with a 4-2 victory over the Osoyoos Coyotes.
Jagger Bowles held the hot hand Saturday for Kelowna with a hat-trick, while Colton Dachwitz added the single.
Connor DeMelo stopped 19 shots in the Chiefs net.
In Friday’s loss, Bowles and Jordan Salahor scored for Kelowna.
The Chiefs are back in action this Friday in Revelstoke, before returning home Saturday night for a rematch with the Princeton Posse. Face off at Rutland Arena is 7 p.m.
