The West Kelowna Warriors have booked a spot in the BCHL Interior Division final with the defending champion Penticton Vees.
The Warriors closed out their opening round series with the Merritt Centennials with a 7-4 victory Thursday night at Royal LePage Place.
Captain Max French scored a hat-trick for the Warriors who finished off the Cents in five games,
Ambrose Firkus, Daniel Gayle, Reid Simmonds and Brennan Clark also scored Warriors who have a full week off before the Interior Division final.
With several players nursing injuries, Warriors head coach Rylan Ferster said the time off will be welcomed by his club.
“We certainly have some bumps and bruises as you get in a playoff series and playing in that little rink over there you get maybe a couple more so it will certainly be nice to get a little rest,” says Ferster.
Games 1 and 2 are set for Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30 in Penticton.
Games 3 and 4 will go April 1 and 2 in West Kelowna.
