A six-goal second period helped the Langley Warriors get back into the win column.
The Warriors broke open a 2-1 game with that big middle frame as they defeated the Valley Rebels 12-4 on Tuesday night in West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association action. The senior B lacrosse game was played at the George Preston Recreation Centre.
Langley was coming off a 13-9 loss to the Royal City Capitals at Queen’s Park Arena on Saturday and the Warriors lead the league with a 4-2-0-1 record.
Against the Rebels, Kerry Susheski led the way with three goals and seven points while Derek Lowe scored a hat trick. Andrew Murphy chipped in with two goals and two assists and Ryley Brown made 31 saves.
And while the second period won them the game on Tuesday, it was a poor middle stanza which cost the team against the Capitals. Tied at six after 20 minutes, Royal City out-scored Langley 4-1 en route to the 13-9 win.
Murphy had a goal and three assists while Lowe scored twice in the loss. Bryan Poole and Jordan Flaman both had a goal and a pair of helpers.
Langley returns to action on June 9 when they host Coquitlam at the Preston Centre.
