Waterdancers shine in Nanaimo

The Ravensong synchronized swimming team turned in a great showing at the Regional and Recreational Competition.

The Ravensong Waterdancers synchronized swimming team turned in a great showing in Nanaimo last weekend at the Regional and Recreational Competition, bringing home a number of medals.

According to head coach Carol MacFayden, in the competitive division, the Waterdancers’ Julie Preston grabbed gold in the Solo. In Duet, Allandra Ryhorchuk and Jasmin Ford finished first and Kyra Wilson and Alanna Morton were second.

Preston, Ryhorchuk, Ford, Wilson and Morton took first place finish in the team competition, and the Waterdancers swept the figures competition with Preston taking first, Morton second, Ford third, Wilson fifth and Ryhorchuk seventh.

In the Recreation division, Emily Mahony, Emma Shillington, Kate Maddex and Kayla Kremer earned top spot in the Team category, and Mahony and Kramer finished first and second respectively in the Figures.
