West Coast Challenge Cup

The event costs $7 for adult admission, $3 for 12 and under, and free for five and under. The competition gets underway at 2:15 p.m.

The first annual West Coast Challenge Cup takes place this Saturday at Planet Ice Maple Ridge. More than 300 skaters, ages six to adult, will compete in the one-day synchronized skating competition, teams from around the Lower Mainland. Synchronized skating is a team sport that involves 12–20 skaters performing intricate formations and choreography, with judging based on speed, unison, and accuracy.
