A reminder the seventh annual CHRCO Western Weekend takes centre ring at the Coombs Rodeo Grounds this Saturday and Sunday.
“It’s a big weekend,” said co-organizer Tammy Phye, pointing out that as always the event will feature some 30 riders from all over the Island. “We do sorting competition, penning, team challenge penning we do a ranch horse obstacle course, there will be a concession on site and it’s free for everybody to watch — it’s a wonderful family outing.”
There will be prize money up for grabs and those competing in the ranch horse obstacle course will be vying for the coveted Western Weekend belt buckle.
The action runs from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday.
