Westshore Wolves are sure to find ornery Cats in Esquimalt

After hosting Oceanside tonight, Westshore Jr. B pucksters have rematch with Cougars

The Westshore Wolves continue their prowl tonight (7 p.m., Oct. 14) in Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League play at The Q Centre.

Fresh off a 5-1 road loss to the Campbell River Storm at the Rod Brind’Amour Arena, the Wolves host another North division rival as they lace the skates up against the Oceanside Generals. This will be the first regular season meeting between the two teams.

While the Generals haven’t been the most successful team in the league this year, the Wolves have a tough challenge tomorrow night as they look to stay in the thick of the South Island race.

Thursday they’ll play a rematch up against the first-place South Division team, the Victoria Cougars, at the Archie Browning Sports Centre.

The last time the Wolves visited the Esquimalt arena it left a bitter taste in their mouths, as they emerged with an embarrassing 10-1 loss.

Last week however, Westshore posted their first win over the Cats in about a year, exacting a measure of revenge with a hard-fought 4-2 decision in front of their hometown fans in Colwood.

The Cougars have outscored the Wolves in the two games by a measure of 12-5 and the Victoria squad remains one of the top teams in the league this year.

While Saanich and Peninsula have made strides, the Wolves and Cougars are heading toward another battle for top spot in the South.
