The Westshore Wolves didn’t have quite as much luck in their playoff run as the Victoria Grizzlies this weekend.
The Wolves were swept by the Campbell River Storm 6-2 in game 4 of the second round of Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League playoff action.
During Sunday game at The Q Centre, the Storm came out hot, scoring five unanswered goals in the first and second periods on shots from Dawson Frank, Jalen Price, Reid Wheeldon, Darren Hards and Damon Porter. The Wolves got on the board at 16:11 in the second stanza with a goal from Nicholas Polomark assisted by Cole Gardner and Lukas Yesaki.
Heading into the third down 5-1, Keegan Durrance capitalized on the power play with a shot from Brandon Tutte and Trevor Bottomley. But the Storm’s Ryan Butler answered right back at 11:53.
Wolves netminder Jordan Spandli stopped 33 of 39 shots, while the Storm’s goalie Liam Murphy stopped 21 or 23 shots on net.

The loss comes after the Wolves defeated the Victoria Cougars in a thrilling game 7 double overtime in round one of the playoffs.
Despite the loss, the team is already looking to the future. The Wolves’ prospects camp, which is held under the direction of the team’s coaching, training and management staff, will take place March 30 to April 1.
