The Westshore Wolves will be taking on the Victoria Cougars in the first round of Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) playoff action this week.
The Wolves have home ice advantage for the series which kicks off on Wednesday (tonight) at 7 p.m. Game 2 goes at the Archie Browning Arena on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m., game 3 goes at The Q Centre on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m., and game 4 goes in Esquimalt on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 3:30 p.m.

If needed, game five will get underway on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at The Q Centre in the best-of-seven series.

The Wolves finished the regular season with a record of 26-21-1-1 and sit second in the south division, sandwiched between the first-place Saanich Braves and the Victoria Cougars.
Many West Shore players have found success off the ice this season as well. During the VIJHL’s 2017-18 year-end awards over the weekend, the Wolves picked up the lion’s share of the accolades.
Captain Brandon Tutte earned the Jack Robertson Memorial Award for the most sportsmanlike player, as well as the Walt McWilliams Memorial Award for unsung hero. Tutte finished third in league scoring with 16 penalty minutes during the regular season campaign.
Nineteen-year-old Cameron Coutre, who earned multi-point games on 21 occasions, picked up the Brian Harrison Award as the league’s top forward, while defenseman Trevor Bottomley was presented with the Ed Kingston Award.
