Whalers off to track and field provincials

The Ballenas Whalers track and field team will be well represented at the B.C. provincial high school championships today in Langley.

Running through to Saturday, seven members from BSS will compete with the best high school athletes in B.C.

In the Grade 8 invitational, Libby Elliott will compete in javelin. Shane Stewart will compete in the 100-metre hurdle and be a part of the junior boys 4×100 relay.

Grade 10’s Noah Elliott, Anthony Rodway, Simon Morrison and Lena Emmermann will all be in action as well. Elliott will take part in discus and javelin and be part of the 4×100 relay. Rodway will be in the 200-metre and the 4×100 relay. Morrison will take part in both the 100 and 200-metre and be the final member of the 4×100 team. Emmermann will compete in high jump.
