Jordan Vincent earned a spot on the B.C. team that will compete at the 2016 national PeeWee lacrosse championships.

The Comox Valley Wild came up just short in their bid for a podium finish at the 2016 British Columbia Lacrosse Association Box Lacrosse Provincial Midget Championships, July 7-10 in Coquitlam.

The Wild fell 10-4 to Port Coquitlam in the Midget B bronze medal game. The Wild’s Andre Sutter received a Warrior Fair Play Award and Diego Such was named to the all-star team.

Sutter was one of two Courtenay players on the Wild. The other was Colby Black, and the pair are now preparing to represent Zone 6 (Vancouver Island-Central Coast) at the July 21-24 BC Summer Games in Abbotsford.

In other Wild news, the club’s website notes Jordan Vincent of the PeeWee A2 team performed extremely well at the recent BC tryouts, landing him a spot on the 2016 team that will be attending Peewee National Championships in Whitby, Ont. from July 31-Aug. 6.

His determination, hard work, speed and aggressive play were the key to his success,” the Wild note. “The Comox Valley Lacrosse Association would like to congratulate Jordan and his parents on this significant achievement and wish him all the best.”
