Wow, what a wild windy Wednesday – oh wait – it was Tuesday not Wednesday. Thirty-eight ladies fought the wind, cursed the wind, or thanked the wind on May 23. It all depended on what that wild wind did to their shots. The wind didn’t do much for my game but I had a good time. The good news was we didn’t lose power and I didn’t get wet.
Low gross flight winners were Karen Peterson (1), Susan Newberry (2), Betty Foote (3) and Marilyn Ransome (4). Low net flight winners were Donna Salle (1), Debbie Rainer (2), Linda Ransome (3) and Betty Baillie came in second low gross for Flight 4. There were still plenty of prizes and lots of winners. Karen Peterson, Candace Marcynuik, Louise Lodge, Ilke Marais, Leslie Stirling, and Sharon Spooner had long drives. Candace also picked up the prize for a short drive. KPs were won by Louise Lodge, Deb Rainer, Carol Willox, JoAnn Lyle, Cindy Leibel, Kelly Van Genne and Sharon Spooner. Susan Bondar and Evelyn Lucas won the KP in 2 prizes on Hole 7. Susan Newberry, Karen Peterson, Ilke Marais, Lynda Fournier, Babes Shanko and Anita Hill had long putts. Rose Seymour won a prize for landing closest to the 150 yard marker on Hole 9. Cindy Leibel won the least putt prize and Stacey Gartner picked up the most putt prize. And now for our sponsors of the week: Barriere Motor Inn is under new ownership and we are tickled that they have chosen to support us. Gift ‘n Gab joined us last year and we are pleased to have them back. Mane Street Hair, High 5 Diner, and Hair by Alora round out this week’s honourees. Thanks to you all for your support.
Here’s hoping next week the weather will be better. I dug out my shorts and dusted off my golf sandals in hopes that they will be needed. Hope to see you there.
