Birch Island resident Lochlan Wilson (l) places second in the 60 m dash during the BC Junior Development Track and Field Championships in Kamloops the weekend before last.

The BC Junior Development Track and Field Championships were held the weekend before last in Kamloops.

Lochlan Wilson of Birch Island, who is a member of the Kamloops Track and Field Club, competed in several events.

He placed second in javelin with a throw of 19.84 meters, second in 60 meter dash with a time of 9.21 seconds, second in high jump at 1.20 meters and fourth in 100 meter dash at 14.92 seconds.

This was Wilson’s second year at the B.C championships and he is looking forward to next year’s season.
