Win against Salmon Arm puts Peewee Preds at 3 and 3

The Peewee Predators travelled to Vernon on Nov. 13 to play the Blazers.

The fans were treated to another very exciting game with great back and forth action. The Predators came from behind twice during the game, but couldn’t make it a third. Vernon scored with one minute left in the first period and then again in the middle of the second. The Predators scored twice before the end of the second to tie it at two.

First goal was scored by Kohen Martin, assisted by Liam Sutherland and Brad Norrish. The second goal was by Niah Laroy, assisted by Liam and Andrew Reid. Vernon scored the first two goals of the third to take the lead 4-2 with nine minutes to go. Next, the Predators scored on a nice slap shot by Liam, assisted by Niah, and then another goal to tie the game at 4-4, scored by Alysha Kruger, assisted by Liam; 4:11 to go in the third. Liam finished the game with a goal, three assists and a roughing penalty just after the Vernon team took the lead 5-4.

Vernon scored again on that power play to win the game 6-4. It was a great game by both teams and it looks like Liam may have found his stride.

The Predators saw the Salmon Arm Warriors come to town on Nov. 20, and what a game. The Warriors scored while the Predators were still standing at the face off circle to wake the game right up. The Warriors scored again at 14 minutes in the second to take the lead 2-0. The game was very exciting with great, hard work displayed by Andrew Reid. The Predators’ first goal, scored with just under a minute left in the second, scored by Haydn Gjaltema, assisted by Niah Laroy and Cody Maier. The Predators came out roaring after that goal to score again with 0:19 seconds left, this one scored by Niah, assisted by Haydn, putting the game at 2-2. The third period had great action, and the Predators took the lead on a goal scored by Kohen Martin, assisted by Alysha Kruger and Liam Sutherland. Salmon Arm pressed real hard but great positional play and proper pressure paid off for the Predators to hold on for the win 3-2. The Predators are now 3 and 3 on the season.
