Lisa Arrotta’s shutout streak continues as Dr. Lee /Squires Four Pub blank the Goplen Drillers 1-0 in North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association master’s division action.
Irene Arrotta headed home Dr. Lee’s lone goal on a corner from Bobbi Cormier.
Dr. Lee only had nine players but still managed to sneak out the win.
Impact blank VQA
The Gray Monk/Longhorn Impact improved to 2-0 with a 3-0 shutout of a short-handed Vernon Square Liquor Store VQA squad.
Rookie Alicia McCreary got her team on the board early.
After some relentless pressure on the VQA defenders, Minda Chittenden sniped the second goal of the game.
Edeen Ramsey added the insurance goal on a lovely cross from Kim Wiebe.
Chick Kickers cruise past Rosters
The Chick Kickers scored five-unanswered goals as they breezed past Rosters 5-1.
Rosters opened the scoring in the first half on a strike from Becky McLennan.
Michelle Johnson answered with back-to-back goals for the Kickers.
Jenny Garnett would send home a corner from Colline Johnson, extending the lead to 3-1.
Robyn Sherwood found Jen Sorochuk on a gorgeous feed for the Chick Kickers fifth and final goal.
One other score was reported. Salmon Arm TED United blanked Season’s Sista’s 7-0 though no scorers were identified.
Divisional draw
The North Enderby Timber Celtics and Little Tex Outlaws battled to a 1-1 Div. 1 tie on a cold windy Tuesday at Marshall Field.
The Celtics controlled the possession from start to finish but could only manage one goal on the shorthanded Outlaws, and that goal came late courtesy of newcomer Aryana Jacura, who used her lightning speed to bury one five-hole on the keeper in close after some great midfield set up between Ashley Krause and Emily Keeley.
The late goal assured the point after the Outlaws scored early in the first half.
