A contingent of Langley curlers took part in the 10th annual International Wheelchair Bonspiel in Richmond earlier this month, competing against teams from around the world.
In addition to Langley’s Zosia Ettenberg, Tracy Boyd, and skip David Loosley, the Sticks ‘n Stones team included Richmond’s Samantha Siu.
They played against 14 teams, including paralympians representing Team Canada, Korea, Russia, and Switzerland, as well as athletes from Alberta and Toronto, at the Richmond Curling Club.
It was more of a learning experience than anything, said Ettenberg, who noted the team is now preparing for the provincials at the end of January, again in Richmond.
