The 2015 World Baton Twirling Federation (WBTF) International Cup is being held at the Abbotsford Centre from Aug. 5 to 9, along with the inaugural Grand Prix competition, Aug. 10 and 11.

More than 500 athletes from 14 countries will be competing across both events, which will include individual, pair, group, and team competitions. Large contingents are expected from Canada, the United States and Japan.

The competition floor will be at the Abbotsford Centre, while Abbotsford Recreation Centre, Columbia Bible College and the University of the Fraser Valley will function as training facilities for competitors.

The International Cup has been held every two years since 2005, while the Grand Prix arose out of the amalgamation of the WBTF and the World Federation of National Baton Twirling Associations into an umbrella organization called the International Baton Twirling Federation.

The Grand Prix will feature the best male and female baton twirlers from both organizations.

Single day tickets range from $30 to $40. Multi-day packages are also available, as are full-event tickets.
