The 100 Mile House Wranglers are currently sitting in first place of the Doug Birks Division with 11 points after splitting a home-a-away weekend with the Chase Heat, which is one point behind in the standings.
The Wranglers lost 5-4 in overtime to the Heat in 100 Mile House after leading 2-1 at the end of the first frame and 4-2 at the end of the second stanza.
The local lads gave up two quick goals in 29 seconds early in the third period, and the Heat scored at 4:29 of the first overtime for the victory in front of 321 disappointed fans on Sept. 30.
It was a different story for the Wranglers in Chase the following night (Oct. 1) as the visitors skated to a 3-2 victory.
Both teams showed the potent offensive skills with the Heat firing 47 shots at Wranglers goalie Brendan Henderson who was the game’s star for the 100 Mile House squad.
The Wranglers replied with 45 shots on Heat goalie Zak Larson who was the game’s star for the Heat.
