The Leko Precast Camels improved to 4-0 in the Capri Insurance Men’s 45+ League by grounding Lake Country 5-0 at Beasley Park.
The Camels came out strong against the injury-riddled Lakers and wore them down before getting second-half goals from Ken Kranenborg, Steve Milne, Paul Morgan, Brian Williamson and Chris Odermatt.
The Big O/Turn-Key Ogopogos cliped Cantinas 3-2 at Marshall Field #1.
Cantinas went up 2-0 before a hailstorm halted the game for 15 minutes. Big O (3-2)scored just before the half when sniper Mark Wasylyk took a sweet, short feed from Brad Conlin inside the 18 and popped it into the open corner.
Conlin, named the Terasen Gas Man of the Match, nailed a low drive just inside the 18 off a defender and in to level the score midway through the second half. Five minutes later, rookie sensation Volker Otto converted into an open net as he took an easy pass from Roland Riedstra.
The Rutland Spirit took advantage of an own goal to ground Bosman Accounting 1-0 at rainy Parkinson Field #16.
Big Henk Bosman’s blistering 30-yard back pass eluded keeper Pete (The Heat) Richter in the 27th minute. Rutland is 3-2, Bosman 0-5.
