The Fort Langley Youth Rowing Society is looking for a few good rowers.
On Sunday, June 11, the society is calling for athletes aged 13 to 17 to come down to the dock in Fort Langley to test their strength and endurance.
It’s part of a program to seek out new rowing talent for Rowing BC.
The event won’t be taking place on the water. Due to high water flow, it’s too dangerous right now for rowing on the Fraser River.
FLYRS president Cameron Steele said the society will be testing with rowing machines. The venue can be found on the dock at Bedford Channel, in the back of the same building that houses the Fort Langley Pub.
The event runs 10 a.m. to noon and is free.
