Young runners enjoying Run4Fun program again this year

The 10th edition of the Comox Valley Road Runners’ eight-week Run4Fun program began April 13 and this year’s edition is welcoming 35 eager young runners.

Many new and several returning youngsters are off to a great start again this year.  The enthusiastic volunteers are making this an experience to remember and hopefully bringing new recruits to this great sport.

The group meets Wednesday evenings from 67 p.m. until June 1.  Participants of all abilities between eight and 14 years old are joining in for some good times playing games, meeting new friends and finding great places to run in the beautiful Comox Valley.

Run4Fun continues its commitment to offer an educational, supportive, non-competitive environment to help kids develop their running skills, endurance, and self-confidence.

The program encourages a healthy lifestyle including eating well, preventing injuries and exercising while having fun.

Runners are also learning about the importance of a proper warm up and pacing.

“We would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support each year: Extreme Runners, Re/Max Ocean Pacific Realty, Rawthentic Eatery, and Quality Foods,” a program spokesperson said.
