The most senior athletes at the track and field competition at the 2018 Kimberley Cranbrook 55+ BC Games are Margaret Raffan (right), 91, or Vernon, and Hildegard Buschhaus (90, from Vancouver Island North), who are competing in the 90-94 Division. Raffan is competing in Discus, Javelin, Shot Put, Weight Throw, 4x100 metre Relay, 4x400 metre Power Walk and 4x100 metre Mixed Relay. The torch was lit in Cranbrook to launch the countdown to the Kimberley/Cranbrook 2018 BC 55+ Games, Sunday, June 17, in Balment Park. Preparation for 55+ BC games moves ahead with opening of office

With the 55+ BC Games coming up in the fall, the first big step in getting the communities of Kimberley and Cranbrook ready for them has been taken with the opening of the official office for the Games in the old Community Futures building on Slater Road in Cranbrook.
