Two individuals in Tyrannosaurus rex costumes were sported strolling in the Parksville Community Park on Saturday.
It was an unusual sight that brought smiles and chuckles to many walkers and strollers in the park, young and old as they waddled along the boardwalk and the trail, making stops along the way to accommodate people who want to have photos taken with them.
Vienna Matthews and Jordan King, both from Nanaimo, got the costumes for Christmas and decided to wear them in public on Jan. 6.

“We just did it for fun,” said Matthews. “We’re not really surprised with the reactions we’re getting.”
They were such big attraction on day when the sun was shining and bright.
“We just figured we would spread joy and happiness in the New Year,” said King.
