Fall fair records a 12-per-cent drop

The Rock Creek and Boundary Fair Association (RCBFA) is reporting a 12-per-cent drop in revenue for 2015 over last year’s fair.

A sweet-toothed black bear gained entry into Jewel Lake resident Michael Nickson’s car last week, virtually destroying the rear seats. Parked only metres away from his residence, the vehicle and its trunk’s booty of over 40 kilograms of apples sustained what will likely prove thousands of dollars in damages. Nickson, who had no collision insurance on the vehicle, believes he left the car unlocked.

The Greenwood Board of Trade convened in the historic courtroom housed in City Hall for it’s most recent meeting. On the agenda, among other things, was the proposed formation of a committee to oversee restoration projects such as cleaning the stained glass windows mounted in the courtroom ceiling.
