July 31, Quesnel RCMP members were called to the scene of found remains along the banks of the Fraser River near the Plywood Plant.
Quesnel residents were treated to a Canadian Armed Forces visit as they drove through Friday morning on their way to assist emergency efforts in Williams Lake.
As of press time Thursday the CRD had issued 19 evacuation orders and 12 evacuation alerts since the Emergency Operations Centre opened July 6. The CRD's evacuation orders and alerts cover about 24,000 square kilometres.
Company says site is not under any immediate threat
While the fire situation in the Cariboo remains relatively unchanged, residents are urged to be prepared. "The evacuation alert for the City of Williams Lake and surrounding areas remains in place and residents are encouraged to remain prepared," fire officials stated.

Billy Barker Days is officially cancelled due to the forest fire situation. Council requested organizers of the 44th annual family festival cancel the event out of respect for residents fleeing the flames and losing their homes. The decision came down Monday night. The rationale for this cancellation is as follows:

Win big with SkyFest and Wings
Sean David Kuntz who was reported missing June 18 has been found. Sadly Kuntz was found deceased. July 1 Lillooet RCMP, and the local Search and Rescue located Kuntz in the Fraser River.
Tuesday, June 27 Quesnel RCMP arrested a 36-year old-female in regards to a break and enter on Hesketh Road May 20.
Search Continues for missing Quesnel man
RCMP are searching for a missing 45-year-old man who left Smithers, B.C. on Friday, June 9 to cycle to Saanich.
The Kamloops Storm will play six regular-season games in Quesnel this season in an attempt to showcase the city and its support for future expansion bids. In those games, Kamloops will twice play both the 100 Mile House Wranglers and Osoyoos Coyotes and will play single games against the Kelowna Chiefs and North Okanagan Knights. Effective immediately, the new allowable annual cut for the Quesnel Timber Supply Area is set at 2,607,000 cubic metres, chief forester Diane Nicholls announced Friday morning.
Thomas Marion, age 33, is a high risk violent sex offender who was recently released plans to reside in the Hixon area, frequenting Prince George and Quesnel.
