They had to work their way through heavy smoke, but quickly extinguished the flames. The arena has been closed to the public until the cause of the fire has been determined.

The BC Conservation Officer Service agreed to have a 75-year-old Wardens Cabin moved from Stobie Lake to the 108 Heritage Site. It took seven months to complete the chore, including repairs and moving donated by Pioneer Log Homes, but the cabin, which is the last remaining Wardens Cabin built in 1941 era in British Columbia, will be re-dedicated on Aug. 1.
