Bestowed upon individuals who have brought distinction to themselves and the City of Prince Rupert by outstanding achievements in sports, youth leadership, volunteer and community service, the award recognizes individuals who have made a positive and significant difference in the community. Liu’s athletic accomplishments while in Prince Rupert include winning his first triple crown gold in men’s doubles, mixed doubles and men’s singles at the Northern BC Winter Games in 1999, and being named the Zone 7 Male Athlete of the Year under 19 for 2000/2001.
