Customer service is first and foremost, says Tyler Boucher of 3Gen Cabinetry.
“We’ve been doing cabinets by word of mouth for the last four years in Williams Lake and about six or eight months ago we decided we would take the next step and open up a show room to show people what we can offer, and now we’re open,” Boucher says, adding it’s hoped the showroom will help the company serve customers’ needs.
Tyler, his father Eric Boucher, and grandfather Phil Barber, are the three generations that make up the business.
Eric was a cabinet maker for years, and Tyler recalls helping his dad when he was 10 years old — carrying lumber, hammering nails, and cleaning up.
After a decade playing minor pro hockey in the U.S., followed by some real estate investing ventures, Tyler returned to Canada and talked his dad, then retired, into going into business with him. As the story goes, the pair ended up in Williams Lake.
“It wasn’t very hard to pull Dad out of retirement. He loves it,” Tyler says.
Grandpa Phil, 92, lives in Abbotsford. Tyler points out his grandfather’s a silent, but integral, part of the business.
“He comes up for a visit a few times a year to check things out and make sure that he’s plugged in with what’s going on.”
When customers arrive at the showroom they can expect to meet show room manager D.J. Mostert who will be there welcoming people and walking them through the process of designing their kitchen.
The company offers a wide range of door styles, custom colours, and specialty features.
“We are very excited to be in partnership with Columbia Cabinets. They have been manufacturing high-quality custom cabinetry out of Abbotsford for over 40 years and are highly regarded in the kitchen industry,” Tyler says, adding customers can expect to receive their cabinets within six to eight weeks of ordering them.
Additionally, 3Gen Cabinetry has created a lighting display area showcasing lights from the Langley-based, award-winning company, Design Lighting.
Tyler says customers can take advantage of professional lighting design services, which means a customer can arrive at the showroom with plans for new construction or a renovation project, and receive a custom lighting plan designed for each room of their home.
Everyone is invited to the showroom’s grand opening on Saturday Feb. 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Come down and enter the draws for some big give-aways.
The grand prize is up to $5,000 off the price of a new kitchen.
Second prize is up to $3,000 off the price of a new kitchen. We will also be doing lighting give-aways and door prizes,” Tyler says.
3Gen Cabinetry is located at 101B-369 Oliver St. in Williams Lake.
