A cheque for health

QUALITY FOODS managing partner John Briuolo (left) and Parksville store manager Guy Sigouin present a $25,000 cheque to Amber Adams of the Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation. What is the QF Community Health Fund and why is it important to Comox Valley residents? The Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation (NDHF), which administers the Quality Foods Community Health Endowment Fund on QF’s behalf, is the regional referral hospital for areas where QF has stores, often keeping families closer to home by not travelling to Victoria and Vancouver. For many years in January and February, QF has run promotions to raise funds to support health care facilities ranging from extended care units to maternity, pediatric and cardiac care. By purchasing participating Becel and Dempster’s products, QF customers supported this year’s campaign as never before, resulting in an unprecedented $25,000 contribution to the fund.
