Abbotsford McDonald’s manager April Powers recently received a 2012 Outstanding Manager of the Year Award from McDonald’s Canada.
This award is presented to restaurant managers across Canada who have made a significant contribution to the business in the areas of customer service, staff training and development, coordinating local marketing programs and sales building.
Each Outstanding Manager of the Year Award winner receives a commemorative plaque and shares of McDonald’s Corporation stock.
“It’s a great honour to receive this award from McDonald’s,” said Powers. “To be recognized for my efforts and successes at my restaurant is a tremendous achievement for me. I love my job and am thrilled to have the opportunity to build such a rewarding career.”
Powers began her 15-year career with McDonald’s as a crew person at the Ellwood Centre McDonald’s in Abbotsford. Since starting with the company, she has been awarded the 2009 Restaurant of the Year Award as well as the 2009 Ray Kroc Award which is awarded to the top one per cent of managers in Canada. She has held her current position as manager for the past nine years and truly appreciates the people she works with and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with customers and crew.
“This award is a well-deserved recognition for April,” said Sid Johnson, Abbotsford McDonald’s owner/operator. “Her willingness to always go above and beyond to bring quality service to our customers every day has been extraordinary. April is an integral part of the team here in Abbotsford and a key contributor to our success.”
